Online
Play online with friends and other players, or set up a match against bots.
Online is friends and other players. Hood Warfare 2 is a multiplayer FPS with multiplayer, PvP, and online PvP. You host or join from inside the game.
Open Steam, start the game on your Windows PC, and use the match setup there. You pick who is in the match, then the map, the mode, and the match settings.
Pick online when the people you want are real players. Friends and other players share the match. If the lobby is short, the bot choice can still fill seats, which is a different switch from the online switch.
Family Sharing is account sharing. It is not a match type. It does not add a mode, a map, or a bot rule. Use it to share the game on one account, then come back to online or bots for the actual round.
Bots
Bots cover two uses. You can set up a match against bots, and you can add bots to fill out the teams. A full bot match is the single-player shaped option. Filling teams keeps humans in the lobby and pads the empty spots.
Single-player fits a bot match you run without a full human lobby. It is not a campaign. You still pick a map and a mode.
Bots can be the whole match, or they can fill empty seats on a team. If the match setup shows a difficulty or a bot count, read it there. The setup lets you use bots as opponents or as fillers.
A bot match still uses the six modes. Chaos with bots is every player, including bots, chasing most kills. A team mode with bots still has gangs, a bag, a bomb, chains, or turf. The mode row does not change because a seat is a bot.
Use bots when you want to learn a mode before you take it online. Turf War, the bag run, and the bomb plant are easier to see once without a full lobby. Then take the same map and mode online with friends and other players.
Map and mode
Choose your map, mode, and match settings, and add bots to fill out the teams.
The map choice is one of the four named maps: downtown, the suburbs, The Trenches, or Chicago Mall. The mode choice is one of the six: Turf War, GangBang, Chaos, Hit A Lick, Destroy The Block, or Chain Snatch.
Pick the mode for the win condition you want. Territory, a kill race with your gang, a free-for-all kill race, a bag, a bomb, or chains. Then pick the map you are willing to learn. The shared map note is streets or indoors, with routes that differ by map.
Destroy The Block is the mode to read before you care about lives, because it is one life per round. The other modes do not set a life count. Plan around one life only in the bomb mode.
Controller players stay on the same map list and the same mode list. Full controller support does not add a mode or a separate queue. A pad does not unlock a fifth map.
Match settings
Match settings sit beside the map and the mode. Score limit, time limit, and bot count are whatever the match setup shows in the game.
Add bots to fill out the teams from this same setup, when the sides are short. That choice sits with the map, the mode, and the match settings. It is not a fifth mode. It is a way to finish the lobby.
English is the supported language, with full audio, so callouts you hear in a match are the English track. Windows is the only platform. A match does not start on Mac or Linux.
After you leave the setup, the round follows the mode. GangBang and Chaos chase most kills. Turf War chases territory. Hit A Lick chases the bag. Destroy The Block chases the plant or the defuse. Chain Snatch chases chains.
If you still need the PC before you install, check Windows 10 against Windows 11 and 8 GB against 16 GB on the requirements page. The launch page has the 8 October 2026 date and the US price. Then come back, pick online or bots, and start the match in the game.
